1. Overview

Nukhu is a platform built by and for independent filmmakers, and we hold a simple position on artificial intelligence: AI on Nukhu exists to help audiences find films and get accurate answers — never to exploit, imitate, or replace the creative work published here. This page describes every way Nukhu currently uses AI, in plain language, and the commitments we make around it.

2. Ask Nukhu — how it works

Ask Nukhu is a natural-language search assistant available on the search page. You ask a question in your own words — “a funny short film under 15 minutes”, “do I keep the rights to my film?” — and it responds with matching films or an answer about how Nukhu works.

It is deliberately built as a retrieval system, not a generative chatbot:

  • Answers are never written by an AI model. When Ask Nukhu answers a question about the platform, it returns official, human-written text verbatim — from our FAQ, help pages, and a curated set of approved answers — together with a link to the source. If no official answer exists, it says so rather than inventing one.
  • Film results are matches, not fabrications. Discovery questions return real titles from the public catalog, ranked by how closely their published details match the meaning of your question.

3. The data behind it

Ask Nukhu searches only content that is already public on nukhu.com:

  • Public film details — titles, synopses, taglines, genres, tags, production year, and published cast and crew credits.
  • Public studio names and their published filmographies.
  • Subtitle and caption text, used solely so questions can match films through their dialogue (for example, finding a film by a line you remember). Subtitles are indexed for search matching only.
  • Nukhu's own help and policy pages, and a small library of official answers written by the Nukhu team.

It does not access private account data. Your watch history, purchases, balances, messages, and other account information are never part of the search index.

4. What we never do

  • Your films are never used to train AI models. Publishing a NuVee on Nukhu does not grant Nukhu or anyone else the right to use your film, trailer, stills, or artwork as training data for machine-learning models — ours or any third party's. This is also reflected in the NuVee Creator and Content License Addendum.
  • No AI-generated content is presented as human work. Nukhu does not generate synthetic films, reviews, ratings, or comments.
  • No sale of creator or viewer data for AI purposes. We do not sell or license platform content or user data to AI companies.

5. Third-party processing

To understand the meaning of a question, Ask Nukhu sends the question text — and only the question text — to an AI infrastructure provider (currently Cloudflare) that converts it into a numerical representation used for matching. No name, email address, account identifier, or other personal data accompanies the question. The same conversion is applied to the public catalog text described in section 3.

Frequently asked questions may be cached anonymously so repeated questions can be answered without reprocessing. See the Privacy Policy for our general data practices.

6. Questions and changes

If Nukhu adopts additional AI features in the future — for example, optional tools that help creators write metadata — this page will be updated first, and any feature touching creator content will be opt-in for the creator. Questions about this page can be sent to support@nukhu.com.
