Started as a studio.
nukhu began as a production company for commercial work, music videos, shorts, and original film projects before expanding into distribution and platform building.

Born in the Milky Way
nukhu is a film studio, a curated streaming environment, a marketplace for intentional viewing, a campaign fundraising layer for approved projects, a home for original productions, a partnership layer for filmmakers and advertisers, and a year-round pathway into nukhufest, community participation, and long term creative support.
It is built for people who want a more deliberate relationship with movies: members who want better discovery, backers who want to help films reach their next milestone, partners who want clearer economics, ambassadors who want to help culture move, and audiences who want reporting and participation that feel more meaningful.
nukhu is organized around two primary statuses. Everyone who creates an account enters as a member. Members can watch, discover, comment, share, vote, back approved campaigns, request screenings, and build stacks. Some members also become ambassadors. If a member submits a film, ad, or campaign project and it is accepted, that member is granted partner status. Partners can have Nuvees, NuSpots, crowdfunding campaigns, or a combination of those pathways.
nukhu is not designed around bundling thousands of titles into a subscription blur. It is designed around selecting films on purpose, supporting artists more directly, and giving each work its own identity, price, context, and audience path.
On nukhu, films are called Nuvees, or Nukhu movies. Advertisements are called NuSpots. The language reflects a larger goal: build a culture with its own meaning, not just another shelf of disposable content tiles.
Create an account, browse the library, unlock Nuvees, back curated campaigns, watch originals, comment, vote, request screenings, build stacks, and share discoveries. Ambassadors extend that participation into referrals, community growth, and earnings.
Upload a Nuvee or a NuSpot, apply for a fundraising campaign, access partner tools after approval, monitor analytics, adjust pricing, request payouts, and use nukhu as both a distribution surface and a marketing system.
Original development, production, post-production, and long term collaboration.
Submission based curation, micropayments, pricing control, and deliberate viewing.
Curated campaigns help approved films, episodes, and series reach funded milestones inside the NuVee ecosystem.
nukhufest turns online momentum into finalists, screenings, and the Best Nuvee award.
The Nuvee Club, screenings, podcasts, socials, and foundation programs expand the ecosystem around each release on and off the platform.
The story of nukhu is both philosophical and practical. The name carries an idea about art and consciousness. The company carries an evolving attempt to make independent film discovery, support, and distribution more workable.
The word draws from two Ancient Egyptian concepts. The Nu refers to a swirling watery chaos from which the cosmic order was produced. The Khu refers to consciousness or spirit. Together they suggest cinema as something that gives shape to possibility and awakens awareness.
That idea continues to guide the brand today. The goal is not just to host content. It is to surface films that carry perspective, spirit, and a reason to exist.
The company begins with production services and original media work, supporting independent creators through development, production, post-production, marketing, and distribution thinking.
nukhu expands from production into digital distribution with the first web streaming beta, creating a curated submission based pathway for films to premiere online.
The annual festival is created to celebrate the top Nuvees and let online voters help determine the Best Nuvee of the year.
The inaugural in person nukhufest is held in New York City, extending the platform into a real world communal event.
nukhu is rebuilt for both mobile and desktop, improving the user experience and broadening how people can access the platform.
The nukhu foundation formalizes the nonprofit support layer, and the Roku app extends selected viewing to OTT devices.
nukhu now operates with expanded OTT support to more TV apps, more robust integrations, a wider originals stack, and a fuller relationship between streaming, festival, community, and partner tools.
The member side is about discovering and supporting films with more intention. The partner side is about publishing, fundraising, promoting, and measuring work with more control.
All viewers start here. Members can watch, discover, back campaigns, comment, vote, request screenings, share films, and some members also become ambassadors.
Members can search for Nuvees by title, genre, and creator name, and sort by votes, duration, year, views, and price to find what matches their mood or curiosity.
Each Nuvee page can include a synopsis, director statement, trailer, credits, cast, stills, official links, comments, and share tools. Members can add the title to custom stacks, share it on socials, and request the film in theaters.
The nukhu foundation produces Nuvee screenings for international film fans throughout the year. When a Nuvee receives enough requests in an area, nukhu can organize a screening and send invitations to attend.
Members can support curated film, episode, and series campaigns with a tier or custom amount. Public campaign pages show the goal, progress, updates, backers, cast and crew, and what happens next if the project is funded.
Members can purchase credits directly or watch NuSpot ads in a separate viewing session so the film itself remains uninterrupted. Once a Nuvee is unlocked, access remains through nukhufest and for however long the filmmaker keeps it live on nukhu.
Members can comment on Nuvees they have watched to help others decide whether to buy, create and share custom stacks like film playlists, vote during festival season, and follow partner activity over time.
Members who join the Nuvee Sales Network can share films through their relationships, track direct and extended connections up to five degrees, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly earnings.
Accepted members are granted partner status. Partners can upload Nuvees, apply for campaign fundraising, use recommended tier and perk structures, launch NuSpot campaigns, use partner tools, and request payouts at any time.
nukhu partners stream Nuvees or NuSpots on nukhu. Partners can earn from Nuvees and spend earnings on NuSpots for marketing.
Submit a story driven video of any duration for consideration, including features, shorts, music videos, and episodic series. Content with any exhibition history or completion date is considered.
If your film is accepted as a Nuvee and/or Semi-Finalist in nukhufest, you gain access to partner tools where you can update artwork, add a poster, cast and crew, upload a custom trailer, add links, and adjust more detailed presentation elements. Nuvee partners can also geo-restrict their Nuvees to specific countries or territories based on available license rights.
Approved projects can create a campaign attached to a NuVee, episode, or parent series. Creators propose a goal, build from recommended support tiers and predefined perk categories, pay the submission fee before campaign media upload, and submit the package for admin review.
Nuvees are non-exclusive. Creators own their content and can unlist at any time, though a Nuvee must remain live in the United States throughout nukhufest to stay eligible for Best Nuvee. All Nuvees start at $0.10 to purchase and partners earn at least $0.05 per viewer purchase. Partners can set a higher price, revenue is split 50-50, and earnings payouts can be requested from the partner dashboard whenever desired.
NuSpots are video advertisements where each view is confirmed with an image survey. Campaign budgets start at $0.20 per ad view. Partners can set campaign length, target market demographic, frequency per viewer, total budget, and a call to action link. NuSpots are reviewed by the nukhu committee before campaigns begin. Members watch NuSpots and earn points for their engagement, which can be spent only on nukhu.
Once a Nuvee is live, its trailer can be embedded on third party pages using the share and embed tools. Clips of trending Nuvees are advertised with media spend on third party platforms. All Nuvees receive publicity support in the form of reviews and/or interviews. Some Nuvees that have previously screened at notable festivals such as Berlin, Cannes, New York, Sundance, SXSW, Toronto, Tribeca, and Venice are made exclusively available on nukhu by filmmakers to maximize support impact.
Nukhu Fundraising is designed as a curated campaign layer, not a separate open marketplace. Approved projects attach to a NuVee, episode, or series record so the public page can evolve from live campaign to funded project to released NuVee without leaving the platform.
Filmmakers can propose a clear milestone, build support tiers, include core Nukhu perks plus approved premium perks, and submit the package for review. Backers see the goal, progress, updates, tier details, backer activity, and the project stage before they support.
Campaigns use an escrow model for launch. Backers pledge NuPoints to a specific campaign; if the campaign does not meet its goal, the pledged NuPoints return to the backer's account balance. A relaunched campaign can then notify previous backers that the project has updated its goal, plan, or materials and invite them to pledge those NuPoints again.
nukhu is meant to be more legible than platforms where attention disappears into a black box. Different participants can see different slices of activity, history, reach, and performance.
Everyone on the platform can access a baseline view of their own film activity, purchases, and engagement history.
All titles in the Nukhu Originals stack carry the Nukhu Original label because nukhu has been deeply involved. The meaningful distinction is between work produced directly by the studio and work produced in partner relationships.
These are projects made directly under the nukhu production stack. They may be conceived, developed, produced, edited, or finished as in-house original work.
nukhu is tech forward and also produces interactive and multimedia content in addition to linear films. The studio explores video in multiple exhibition formats, including multi perspective storytelling where a viewer can select in real time which character perspective they are watching within the same story. nukhu experiments with AI tools in filmmaking when its use does not replace the authorship and rights of humans. Such projects are tagged with the labels interactive and/or AI-generated.
These are works made in meaningful partnership with other production companies, collaborators, or artists who have received substantial support through nukhu or the nukhu foundation.
Partner originals are still true originals inside the stack because nukhu was heavily involved in development, production, post-production, funding support, or long term release strategy.
nukhufest is the audience powered festival pathway inside the broader nukhu ecosystem. The platform handles discovery and voting. The live festival celebrates the finalists and announces the Best Nuvee.
Only films completed during the last 2 years and submitted by the deadline are eligible for nukhufest. Prior screenings do not affect eligibility, though online premiere status is preferred.
Submissions may be any duration or genre. All submissions are first reviewed by the nukhu committee based on storytelling and human spirit.
All nukhu members are judges and can watch any Nuvee to vote. Only votes for Semi-Finalists and Finalists count toward the annual Best Nuvee winner.
Nuvees enter the season through rolling curation. The committee reviews work using the CAR lens: Concept, Aesthetics, and Relatability.
Selected titles are approved, scheduled, and released on nukhu.com where members can discover, watch, and begin voting.
Audience attention matters. Comments, sharing, and voting help determine the Top 10 finalists and the eventual Best Nuvee winner.
The finalists are celebrated in the in person New York event with screenings, Q and As, workshops, networking, and awards programming.
The top voted finalist is honored live during the nukhu ball award ceremony and receives the development to distribution grant for the next project.
nukhu is encountered across several connected surfaces: the main platform, the review and conversation layer, the nonprofit programs, live screenings, and the public channels where releases and interviews continue moving.
The platform is where the films live. The wider ecosystem is where context, conversation, screenings, podcast interviews, grants, and community relationships keep growing around the work.
Keep up with releases, interviews, festival updates, screenings, and community activity across the public channels that extend nukhu beyond the platform itself.
Whether you arrive as a curious member, an ambitious filmmaker, a campaign backer, an advertiser, an ambassador, or a long term supporter of independent cinema, the core idea stays the same: culture should feel more human, more visible, and more directly connected to the people who care enough to move it.
