A queer blues retelling of Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, “Annabel Lee” set in 1960s Harlem.

“Annabel Lee Blues” acts as prologue to a longer story that is a southern gothic reimagining of Edgar Allan Poe’s poem. This film has everything to do with women's desire, passion vs. performance, endurance, seduction, sacrifice, and home. Heavily influenced by African-American folk archival song, images, films and history of the 1920s.
